The Ending of a Game

Like all journeys every game has to end somehow it can either be with a boss battle or a battle and with victory or defeat.  Most game will have their boss with a higher amount of hit points and they may be able to call in minionsan example of this would be Legate Lanius form Fallout. One of the most recognizable bosses would have to be Bowser from Mario.
The ending for most shooter would be the protagonist killing the antagonist and the world is at peace or sometime still at war because you need to kill another enemy. RPG works sometimes the same but sometimes they will give the protagonist a choice on how the game will end. (Spoiler alert) Example of the first one is modern warfare series in the first one you defeat the Zakhaev, then General Shepherd, and then Makarov.  An example for the RPG is in Mass Effect you can take to Saren and help him change him mind. The games that I think have the best ending would be Mass Effect, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout and Knights of the Old Republic.

The story carries the single player in many ways. One problem with stories they always seem to sound the same and the ending also sounds the same. Some video games that have a great story is Fallout, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Gears of Wars, and games from Rockstar's games are some example of good games or series. For most shooter the story is about some kind of revenge and for RPG they are mostly about having to save something or for revenge.
The start of the game you will start at a character creator or they will give you a charter you would normally have to go thought some kind of tutorial from shooting at some kind of shooting rang or running from a dragon or they will put you in a mission that will teach you the basics of the game.

Single and Multiplayer

Having a good multiplayer and/or single player is key to any video game to be success full. For single player it should be simple to learn the controllers and should not be the hard or easy to play. The most interesting part in most games are the cut scene or the button mashing scenes. Some of the block buster game that thrive on single player have low completion rates, the cause for this may be that people lost interest or they don't have time to play thought the campaigns.

The multiplayer is what brings people back to the game because in a way it is a new game every time you join one because you are playing against real people that will not act like the normal AI or bots.
It is interesting that people can make a living off of YouTube and muiltiplayer. They do this by uploading video tricks and tips or just by commentators over the video.
